Twitter Archive

Twitter was a really important service for me, but that’s changing quickly and I’m not too sure what comes next. What I do know is that I’ve been on it for 16 years, and that means something to me.

As Twitter goes into decline, I wanted a home for my archive. Right now, that archive includes a lot of personal information and private messages. I wanted a way to publish just the meaningful parts, safely and without all the unnecessary data.

This project is an attempt to do that. My archive is now here. It’s not fancy. I often want to do everything, but I stayed focused on solving one problem: creating a simple presence for my public tweets.

I did my best to make it easy for others to use too, in case anyone wants something similar. Its available here on Github:

Feedback welcome. I’m especially open to PRs that address any of the following:

  • Bug fixes or cleaner code
  • Expanding the tweet layout formats
  • Rewriting the build script in other languages (Python, etc.) that perform the same actions
